UAE Initiates Study to Tackle Dubai-Northern Emirates Traffic

Calling all creative minds! Art Dubai is gearing up for its 17th edition, and the anticipation is palpable as the event promises a plethora of new commissions, premieres by globally acclaimed artists, and an enriching education program.

Scheduled from Friday, March 1, to Sunday, March 3, at Madinat Jumeirah, this year’s edition will not only showcase major artistic works but also feature an extensive education, talks, and thought-leadership program. Attendees can expect a series of performances, films, and activations centered around themes of hope, community, and the transformative power of art.

The A.R.M. Holding Children’s Programme, curated by Goa-based artist Sahil Naik, is set to debut at the fair, with plans to extend its reach to over 100 schools and 15,000 students.

Everyone is welcome to join the artistic celebration, with ticket prices ranging from Dhs100 for a one-day pass to Dhs180 for a three-day pass. Ticket sales will commence soon. Convenient free parking is available at the Dubai Police Academy for those who prefer to drive, with shuttle buses offering regular pick-ups to the fair.

Public transportation and taxis are also viable options for commuting to and from the event.

Pablo del Val, Art Dubai’s artistic director, emphasized that the 2024 program reflects the diverse and multicultural communities of Dubai, providing unprecedented opportunities for artists from the Global South. He expressed gratitude for the support of commercial and institutional partnerships, which play a pivotal role in sustaining the world-class non-commercial programs.

Adding to the must-see list is “Heart Space” by Canadian-Korean artist Krista Kim, a newly commissioned digital installation presented by Art Dubai’s lead partner, Julius Baer of the Swiss Wealth Management Group. This immersive experience invites guests to connect through the universal rhythm of the human heartbeat.

Heartbeats of visitors will be captured and showcased on a dynamic LED canvas, creating hypnotic patterns and meditative shapes. It’s a unique opportunity for individuals to explore the rhythmic connection of their hearts amidst the artistic ambiance.

Another captivating exhibit is Piaget’s “The House of Gold,” highlighting the luxury goods sector with an array of high-end jewelry, watches, patrimony pieces, and private collections. It promises to be a dazzling display of opulence and craftsmanship.

As Art Dubai 2024 unfolds, it promises a convergence of art, culture, and community, providing a platform for diverse voices and perspectives from around the world.
