Johannesburg – 23 April 2025
In a deeply personal and courageous move, esteemed South African businesswoman Unaiza Suliman has issued a formal public statement exposing the calculated and deceitful conduct of Amanda Lee Chetty-Moodley, also known as Amanda Lee Dean—a woman she once trusted and supported in both business and friendship.

Unaiza, the founder of UNIQ BROWS and a respected figure in South Africa’s entrepreneurial space, revealed that Amanda allegedly defrauded not only her but also numerous clients and community members who came into contact with Amanda through Unaiza’s personal recommendation.

The detailed memorandum, dated April 3, 2025, outlines a disturbing pattern of fraudulent behaviour, deception, and exploitation. Amanda allegedly misrepresented herself on several fronts: impersonating Unaiza to third parties, accepting substantial financial support under false pretences, and exploiting Unaiza’s credibility to grow her client base through lies and manipulation.
“I supported her as a client, a friend, and a fellow woman in business,” Suliman wrote. “But my trust was misplaced, and my generosity was taken advantage of in the worst ways possible.”
Unaiza disclosed that Amanda pretended to use premium haircare products in her salon but secretly filled those bottles with low-quality substitutes, resulting in severe hair damage for many clients. Even more disturbing are the reports that Amanda sold synthetic hair under the guise of human hair and misled clients into purchasing expensive treatment packages that were depleted after just one use.

In a shocking twist, Amanda is also accused of fabricating a religious conversion—adopting the name “Aleah” and falsely claiming to have embraced Islam—just to gain deeper access to Unaiza’s personal network and build false trust.Despite the betrayal, Unaiza has maintained her composure and acted with integrity. She revealed that Amanda admitted to her wrongdoing in writing, and she has initiated both civil and criminal proceedings to ensure accountability.
“My name, lifestyle, and privacy were all compromised,” Suliman stated. “But I believe in transparency and in protecting the public from individuals who exploit goodwill for personal gain.”

Unaiza’s statement has already struck a chord across the business community, especially among those who admire her commitment to ethical leadership and empowerment. Her decision to go public with this matter was made after seeking professional legal advice and collecting numerous supporting statements from other victims.
“This is not about revenge,” she emphasized. “It is about truth, justice, and protecting others from falling prey to the same deceit.”
A respected voice in South African entrepreneurship, Unaiza Suliman’s experience is a stark reminder that even those with the highest integrity can be targeted by bad actors. Her bravery in coming forward sets an example for others who may be suffering in silence.
As the legal process unfolds, one thing remains clear: Unaiza Suliman stands not as a victim, but as a beacon of strength, clarity, and resilience in the face of betrayal.
