Netflix Drops Dubai Bling Season 2 Amid Controversies

Kanye West Explores Dubai Real Estate Opportunities

Earlier today, the final teaser was distributed to the entire cast, with the official release expected tomorrow. The trailer promises a season packed with drama, featuring intense verbal clashes among cast members such as Mona Kattan, DJ Bliss, Ebraheem Al Samadi, and Farhana Bodi.

Insiders have revealed that this season will be even more gripping, with heightened tensions and frequent quarrels among the cast members. A source closely associated with one of the cast members expressed their discomfort, stating, “Given what is happening in the region, to witness a group of affluent youngsters predominantly arguing about money is truly cringe-worthy.”

Originally slated for release this month, the launch of the new season faced delays due to the recent political developments in Gaza. Despite earlier confirmation from sources, Netflix remained silent in response to multiple requests for comment on the matter.

Dubai Bling Season 2 has not been without its share of pre-airing controversies. Arabian Business disclosed earlier this year that the cast received a modest payment of just $2.5k (AED9,175) per episode for Season 1. Although the fee was marginally increased by 5 percent for the second season, it amounted to a mere AED458 extra per episode.

In another twist, Saudi sensation Amy Roko, known for her niqab-wearing comedic and rapping talents, was dropped from the cast of Season 2. The 29-year-old, who has maintained secrecy about her identity, was initially lined up as a new addition to the Netflix show. However, her departure came after she expressed discomfort with participating in a dating storyline.

As Dubai Bling enthusiasts eagerly await the unveiling of Season 2, it remains to be seen how the show will navigate the delicate balance between entertainment and the evolving socio-political landscape in the region.
