UAE’s Impactful Presence at WEF 2024

UAE Pitches For Resumption Of Normal Flight Schedule With India Amid Dubai Expo

The 54th edition of the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2024 concluded on Friday, marking the UAE’s successful and impactful participation over the five-day event. With more than 100 influential figures, including corporate leaders, government officials, and private sector representatives, the UAE actively engaged in sessions, panel discussions, conferences, and bilateral meetings.

During its participation, the UAE focused on strengthening international cooperation and partnerships to foster stability, development, and prosperity. The initiatives and agreements announced at the WEF align with the country’s national priorities, aiming to build a more robust and faster-growing economy while enhancing competitiveness across all sectors.

Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, emphasized the UAE’s role as a key international player in shaping future trends and providing innovative solutions to global challenges. He highlighted the country’s exceptional standing and active role, guided by the vision of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai.

Al Gergawi stated, “Distinguished by its proactive vision, unique developmental and economic model, and unparalleled contributions to bolstering international cooperation, the UAE has multiplied its credibility and garnered international trust in its impactful positive role across various regional and global issues.”

He further emphasized the UAE’s commitment to presenting new perspectives and pathways for sustainable solutions to global challenges through purposeful dialogues and innovative economic frameworks.

The private sector played a significant role in the UAE’s presence at the WEF, with heads of national companies, corporate leaders, and senior business executives representing 80 percent of the country’s participation. The UAE’s exceptional pavilion, themed “Impossible is Possible,” hosted bilateral meetings, public sessions, and press conferences, fostering discussions among major private sector companies and government officials.

Strategic partnerships were a key focus during the 54th edition, with the UAE signing several agreements to solidify its role as a reliable partner and a hub for positive global change. Initiatives included contributions to the healthcare sector in Gaza, support for forcibly displaced persons, and partnerships with international organizations to enhance living conditions for various communities.

The UAE also launched qualitative initiatives at the forum, such as the EcoMark Global Accreditation, designed to boost the competitiveness of MSMEs in the global green economy. Additionally, a partnership agreement between the UAE Government and the World Economic Forum aimed at developing the “We the UAE for Strategic Intelligence 2031” platform, incorporating artificial intelligence and global knowledge resources.

As part of its agenda, the UAE actively engaged in discussions on technological advancements, artificial intelligence in the education sector, and strategies for developing learning skills. Topics covered included the influence of technology on global trade and investment, the future of global trade, and the prospects of the new global trade order. The UAE’s participation at WEF showcased its commitment to addressing global challenges and contributing to innovative solutions for a prosperous future.
