Dubai Daily La Cantine du Faubourg

Kcal drawing on more than 10 years’ experience to help keep Dubai in shape

When you’re looking for a destination with great food, great ambience and a great bar to perch at before and (long) after dinner, there are a few places in town that spring straight to mind. After a revamp in summer 2021, Dubai’s La Cantine du Faubourg has retained its place towards the very top of a competitive set.

At the base of Jumeirah Emirates Towers, La Cantine is one seriously classy joint – and never more so than now.

Gone are the black and red hues of old, in with the neutrals. The main bar, once along the back of the room, has now moved to the side, and expanded to include an area of high tables and banquettes, while a 90-degree rotation of its lounge seating brings the area towards the centre of the room.

And on any given night, the room is buzzing. Long before the live entertainment rolls out.

This is just a place people want to be. Staff are smart, helpful and among the most welcoming in town – large groups are well looked after, but those flying solo are shown just as much warmth and attention.

Perch at the bar proper to watch the team work their magic, and sample your way through a reworked assortment of mixed drinks. Or just for a chance to peer into the kitchen behind, where chefs fire out plates including La Cantine’s legendary short rib.

La Cantine may have fresh upholstery and a cool new look, but you’ll find the same magic thread through everything else.
