Looking for a new restaurant to check out in Dubai this weekend? Get thee down to La Plage Dubai restaurant – a brand-new beach deck from Jumeirah Al Qasr’s French Riviera eatery. Time Out has been down for a first look at the new space, and we’re already envisioning hours-long Saturday lunches by the sea.

La Plage by French Riviera marries what it calls “Côte D’Azure glamour” with that most iconic of Dubai views – Burj Al Arab, gleaming in the sunshine across the beach.

Grab a seat overlooking the surf to tuck into a menu of Mediterranean dishes including thinly sliced octopus with olive tapenade, truffle rigatoni and truffle pizzetta, all of which will be complemented by a coastal-themed assortment of refreshing mixed drinks.

In keeping with the Mediterranean beach escape theme, resident DJs will play ambient beats throughout the weekend, while diners recline on the deck in comfortable chairs, enjoying the winter sea breeze.

One of 13 new and reimagined restaurant openings from Jumeirah Group, La Plage joins the Jumeirah Al Qasr’s recently reopened The Hide, and is soon to be followed by the arrival of Parisian venue Bar Buci, and a new branch of longstanding Levantine restaurant Al Nafoorah.

It certainly looks like one for a leisurely weekend lunch (shades on, shirt loose, ice bucket within reaching distance…). One for the winter dining list, we reckon.
