The authorities of the United Arab Emirates have reportedly banned the entry of Nigerians into the country. According to a notice sent to its trade partners in Nigeria, all applications submitted by Nigerians were rejected.
Although the authorities of Dubai did not explain the reason behind the ban, they stated that all applications for Nigerian nationals to travel to the UAE were on hold. The authorities have since lifted the ban on Nigerians wanting to travel to the country.
“All Dubai applications submitted are now rejected. It is general for Nigerians and approvals are on hold at the moment.”
“Kindly advise your clients to resubmit C2=A0 applications when the issue is resolved between both governments,” the notice to Nigerian travel agents declared.
A representative of Air Peace, who confirmed the company’s continued presence in Dubai, said that the airline was still carrying its usual customers who have valid visas. She stated that if any changes were to happen, the airline would immediately inform the relevant authorities.
