Several states in India have officially declared either a full-day public holiday or a half-day on January 22 to facilitate the celebration of the inauguration ceremony of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.
Earlier, the Indian government had announced the closure of all central government offices for half a day on the same date, emphasizing the significance of the event.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to participate in the ceremony, adding to the importance of the occasion. The states that have declared a full-day public holiday are Maharashtra, Goa, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, and Chhattisgarh.
On the other hand, the states opting for a half-day holiday are Gujarat, Rajasthan, Assam, Tripura, and Odisha. This widespread recognition of the event showcases the cultural and religious significance it holds for various regions across the country.
