The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is currently hosting the 9th edition of the Dubai International Projects Management Forum (DIPMF) in Dubai. This collaborative event, organized by the RTA in partnership with Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), DP World, and the Project Management Institute (PMI), has brought together leaders and experts to delve into the transformative impact of technological convergences across various industries.
The inauguration of the forum took place at Madinat Jumeirah and was presided over by Shaikh Ahmad Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council. The event aims to explore how technological advancements are reshaping the fundamentals of project management, business, and the economy.
Mattar Al Tayer, the Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors at RTA, highlighted the significance of project management as an efficient tool for structuring and managing operations in both the public and private sectors. He emphasized the impact of rapid technological advancements on project management, prompting a focus on implementing smart, sustainable, and innovative practices to achieve optimal results.
The ninth edition of the forum has attracted participation from heads of government agencies, private entities, and project management experts from around the world. With a gathering of 2,700 project managers, the forum centers around three key themes: Sustainability, Modern methods of project management, and Future trends and technology.
The opening day featured key sessions on future trends in project management, sustainability, green project management, and institutional transformation. The second day’s agenda includes discussions on agile transformation, digital twin and metaverse, leading mega projects and strategic transformations, a roadmap for economic and environmental prosperity, visionary leadership for success, project management in film production, circular economy, and breakthrough innovations and technologies in sports and sports medicine.
In addition to the main sessions, several masterclasses have been conducted on topics such as agile transformation, effective negotiation skills for business success, recovering troubled projects, project portfolio management, value delivery systems in projects, and management of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data. The forum serves as a platform for knowledge exchange and exploration of cutting-edge project management practices
