January 15, 2024 – In alignment with the Dubai Social Agenda 33, centered around the theme “Family: The Foundation of Our Nation,” HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has granted approval for an extensive housing initiative targeting UAE nationals.
Dubai is set to earmark a substantial investment of Dhs5.5 billion, allocating 3,500 plots of land and ready-to-move-in houses numbering 2,300 for its citizens. This monumental endeavor introduces Latifa City, a newly designated area named after Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid’s mother, Sheikha Latifa bint Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Eligible citizens of Dubai can anticipate the distribution of housing plots covering 40 million square feet in February 2024. Latifa City will encompass 2,700 plots, while an additional 800 plots will be situated in the Al Yalayis 5 area.
Furthermore, the project entails the construction of 2,300 new houses across various areas such as Al Khawaneej 2, Al Aweer, Wadi Al Amardi, and Hatta, diversifying housing options for the citizens.
This initiative is part of the broader Dhs208 billion Dubai Social Agenda program recently launched, with a primary goal of doubling the number of Emirati families in the emirate over the next decade. Sheikh Mohammed envisions enhancing housing standards, healthcare, and the overall quality of life for citizens as integral components of this comprehensive program.
In addition to the housing project, Dubai boasts a pipeline of exciting upcoming ventures. Commuters can anticipate the Dubai Metro Blue Line, a 30km route connecting the existing Red and Green Lines, facilitating the daily transport of 320,000 new passengers.
Among other noteworthy projects on the horizon are the ongoing construction of Dubai Creek Tower, Burj Binghatti, The Island, Wasl Tower, and more, contributing to the city’s continuous evolution and growth.
