Dubai International Chamber, a pivotal entity within Dubai Chambers, has orchestrated a triumphant trade mission to Anuga 2023, the world’s foremost trade fair in the food and beverages sector. The chamber orchestrated an impressive tally of more than 350 business-to-business (B2B) meetings, featuring representatives from 13 Dubai-based companies that were part of the visiting delegation.

Under the overarching theme of ‘Sustainable Growth,’ Anuga 2023 took place in Cologne, Germany, from the 7th to the 11th of October. This cornerstone event in the industry attracted approximately 140,000 trade visitors hailing from 200 countries and saw participation from 7,900 exhibitors representing 118 nations.

This trade mission was executed as a vital component of the ‘New Horizons’ initiative, a pioneering program initiated by Dubai International Chamber. The program is designed to facilitate the global expansion of Dubai-based enterprises into strategic priority markets while simultaneously showcasing Dubai as a vibrant global hub for commerce, trade, and investments.

Commenting on the event, Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, emphasized, “Our participation in this year’s Anuga trade fair underscores our unwavering commitment to aiding Dubai-based businesses in gaining international exposure. It aligns with our strategic priorities, bolstering business expansion and fostering robust trade relationships between Dubai and leading global markets. Delegates from our mission capitalized on opportunities to connect with preeminent food distributors, retailers, and dealers, and they gained invaluable insights into the latest industry trends, including cutting-edge tech-driven innovations for sustainable food systems.”

Lootah further iterated, “The F&B sector in Dubai has exhibited substantial growth, indicating tremendous potential for future expansion. Events of this nature allow us to harness global growth prospects. Dubai Chambers remains steadfast in its dedication to supporting members in their global expansion endeavors across strategic markets worldwide. We provide strategic counsel and guidance to ensure our members are well-prepared to enter new markets and maximize their potential for success.”

The New Horizons initiative facilitates companies in participating in international roadshows and trade fairs, providing them with hands-on experience in new territories and aiding them in expanding their footprint into priority markets. These trade missions are pivotal in realizing Dubai’s objective of elevating non-oil foreign trade to AED 2 trillion by 2026, as per the emirate’s five-year trade plan. Simultaneously, they support the chamber’s goal of assisting 100 local businesses in their global expansion endeavors by the end of 2024.
