The General Department of Punitive and Correctional Establishments in Dubai has turned a heartfelt plea into reality for a young Arab girl, ensuring her father, currently serving time as an inmate, could stand by her side and witness her union with her Arab husband on their special day.

This extraordinary gesture was made possible after the girl submitted a request to the Department, seeking their assistance in fulfilling her heartfelt wish.

Under the guidance of Expert Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, the Assistant Commander-in-Chief of Criminal Investigation Affairs at Dubai Police, the Department worked diligently to ensure that the daughter’s wish became a reality.

In her appeal, the young bride-to-be shared that she had received a marriage proposal from an Arab gentleman. With hope in her heart, she stressed the importance of obtaining her father’s consent, despite his incarceration in the Dubai Punitive and Correctional Establishments. She emphasized the significance of his presence during this momentous occasion, considering its deep meaning for her and her entire family.

Brigadier Marwan Jalfar, Director of the General Department of Punitive and Correctional Establishments, confirmed that the Department had received and evaluated the young girl’s request, taking into account the financial and emotional circumstances surrounding her father’s presence during the wedding preparations, given his role as the family’s primary breadwinner.

In a compassionate response aligned with the directives of Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, the Department promptly approved her request, showcasing their commitment to humanitarian initiatives and their positive impact on spreading happiness throughout society.

Beyond granting her wish for the wedding ceremony, Dubai Police extended support to the bride through the ‘Bring Joy to the Inmate’s Daughter’ initiative, ensuring her happiness and providing comprehensive assistance, including the preparation and furnishing of her new home. This effort aimed to create a harmonious and joyful marital environment for the couple while acknowledging its positive influence on her father.

Brigadier Marwan Jalfar expressed gratitude to Sheikh Ahmed Al Shihi, an authorized Islamic marriage official (Mazoon), for accepting the request of the Punitive and Correctional Establishments to attend and officiate the marriage ceremony. He also conveyed his best wishes to the couple for their life together.

Deputy Director of the General at the Department of Punitive and Correctional Establishments, Brigadier Salah Jumaa Bu Asaibah, highlighted that the ‘Bring Joy to the Inmate’s Daughter’ initiative is one of several aimed at ensuring the happiness of inmates’ children, particularly in challenging circumstances. He emphasized that the initiative promotes values of tolerance and love in society, extending his best wishes to the couple for a happy life together.

Expressing their gratitude, the bride, her father, and the groom thanked Dubai Police for this heartfelt initiative that brought them immense joy.
